and the world or Iran that intends in future which is a mere suspection as Iran denies vigorously . Iran demands peaceful energy which is absolutely legal as El-Baradie said. UN selective policy will never attain peace ? Which is priority Iraq under occupation and civil war with 100 deaths daily or Iran?! It seems that UN is dying under US pressure and manipulation.

UN powers meet on Iran nuclear sanctions

New York - The five UN Security Council permanent members and Germany met Friday to discuss a draft resolution seeking to impose sanctions against Iran for carrying on with uranium enrichment.

Diplomats said the closed-door meeting allowed ambassadors from the six countries to read over the draft proposed by Britain, France and Germany, the three European Union countries charged with dealing with Iran.

They said Russia and China held on to their opposition to sanctions and the US also wanted to amend the text. They said discussion was preliminary and they did not expect any quick decision on the text as more discussion was planned for next week.

The draft as distributed to the 15-nation council last week would call on UN members to 'take necessary measures to prevent the supply, sale of transfer directly or indirectly ... of all items, materials, equipment, goods and technology which could contribute to Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programmes.'

It says, 'States shall take the necessary measures to prevent the provision of technical assistance or training, financial assistance, investment brokering or other services and transfer of financial resources or services related to Iran's nuclear or ballistic missile programmes.'

The draft would demand that the Iranian government suspend 'without further delay' all enrichment and reprocessing of uranium, research and development. The suspension should be verified by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
