This law since 1400 years ago is still valid for now and future. Those who aim just free sex life need not to be allowed. The family as ex American Ambassador Barbara Baudin said is the base of social life . It needs to be protected.

Abortion issue in front in South Dakota
SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- When South Dakota voters go to the polls in November they'll be deciding whether to throw out a law instituting the most severe abortion ban in the nation.

Formally known as the Women's Health and Human Life Protection Act, HB 1215 makes performing an abortion in South Dakota a felony unless the mother's life is in jeopardy.

Rather than suing to block the new law, opponents are using a 19th-century provision that allows voters to overrule the legislature by referendum, The Washington Post reported.

Recent polling found opponents of the abortion ban with an 8-point lead over proponents while 14 percent of the voters were undecided.

The referendum has made South Dakota the focal point for the abortion rights debate with money and tactical advice being sent from all parts of the nation, the Post said.
