MULTAN, Pakistan - A plane carrying 45 people crashed soon after it took off Monday from this city in east Pakistan.

An Associated Press reporter counted at least 10 dead or wounded at the scene, about three miles from the airport in Multan.

An airline security official, Mohammed Iqbal, said 41 passengers and four crew were aboard the Fokker aircraft.

The passenger plane was on a domestic flight for Pakistan International Airlines.
